More specifically, we discount our quality score by the published tuition and fees charged by a school. This gives the cost per unit of quality for each college. The value is determined by how much quality your dollar buys.
In our regional and nationwide rankings, out-of-state tution and fees are used in our calculations. Average in-state tuition and fees are used for our statewide rankings.

Our analysis found Western Governors University to be the best value school for computer science students who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Utah. Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, the large private not-for-profit school awarded 3,890 diplomas to qualifed bachelor’s degree students in 2020-2021.
The average tuition and fees for an out-of-state undergraduate students at WGU are $7,452 a year. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $26,218 in loans while pursuing their degree.
WGU is one of the schools on our list that is primarily online. Each undergraduate student at the school took at least one class online.
