This report analyzed 146 schools in the Southeast Region to see which ones were the most popular bachelor's degree programs for computer science students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Computer Science program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named University of North Carolina at Charlotte the most popular school in the Southeast Region for computer science students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in the large city of Charlotte, UNC Charlotte is a public college with a very large student population.

Women make up 19% of the compsci majors at the school.

The average amount in student loans that compsci majors at UNC Charlotte take out while working on their Bachelor's Degree is $24,964. Assuming that a graduate chooses a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly loan payment is $194.

Out of the 146 schools in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in the small city of Chapel Hill, UNC Chapel Hill is a public college with a very large student population.

Women make up 28% of the compsci majors at the school.

On average, compsci graduates from UNC Chapel Hill take out $15,407 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree.

Durham, NC

A rank of #3 on this year’s list means Duke University is a great place for computer science students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in the city of Durham, Duke is a private not-for-profit college with a fairly large student population.

Out of the 146 schools in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Georgia landed the # 5 spot on the list. UGA is a very large public school located in the midsize city of Athens.

Of the 256 students majoring in compsci at UGA, 82% are male and 18% are female.

CompSci majors at UGA take out an average of $23,419 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree. Assuming that a graduate chooses a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly loan payment is $250.
