To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Computer Science Degree Search has created its Most Popular Information Science Bachelor's Degree Schools in the Southeast Region ranking. This report analyzed 66 schools in the Southeast Region to see which ones were the most popular bachelor's degree programs for computer science students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Information Science program at each school on the list.

The colleges and universities below are the most popular for IS majors pursuing a bachelor's degree.

Our 2023 rankings named Virginia Commonwealth University the most popular school in the Southeast Region for information science students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in the medium-sized city of Richmond, VCU is a public college with a very large student population.

Women make up 25% of the IS majors at the school.

The average amount in student loans that IS majors at VCU take out while working on their Bachelor's Degree is $25,218. When it comes time to repay the loan, graduates who are on a 10-year repayment plan pay an average monthly payment of $213.

Harrisonburg, VA

The in-demand bachelor’s degree programs at James Madison University helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular information science schools in the Southeast Region . JMU is a fairly large public school located in the city of Harrisonburg.

About 18% of the students majoring in IS at the school are women while 82% are male.

While working on their Bachelor's Degree, IS majors at JMU accumulate an average of around $21,756 in student debt. This translates to an average monthly loan payment of $244, based on a 10-year repayment plan.

Statesboro, GA

Out of the 66 schools in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Georgia Southern University landed the # 3 spot on the list. Located in the town of Statesboro, GaSou is a public school with a very large student population.

About 22% of the students majoring in IS at the school are women while 78% are male.

On average, IS graduates from GaSou take out $29,064 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree. For students who choose a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly student loan payment is $119.
