Our analysis looked at 15 schools in the Southwest Region to see which online associate degree programs were the most popular for computer science students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from schools with online programs.

The colleges and universities below are the most popular for IT majors pursuing an online associate degree.

Our 2023 rankings named Texas State Technical College the most popular online school in the Southwest Region for information technology students working on their associate degree. TSTC is a fairly large public school located in the city of Waco.

About 23% of the students majoring in IT at the school are women while 77% are male.

While working on their Associate Degree, IT majors at TSTC accumulate an average of around $19,390 in student debt.

Out of the 15 online programs at schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Cochise County Community College District landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in the small city of Sierra Vista, Cochise College is a public school with a small student population.

Of the 22 students majoring in IT at Cochise College, 59% are male and 41% are female.

The in-demand online associate degree programs at Strayer University - Texas helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the best information technology schools in the Southwest Region . Strayer University - Texas is a small private for-profit school located in the large city of Austin.

About 22% of the students majoring in IT at the school are women while 78% are male.

After completing their Associate Degree, IT graduates from Strayer University - Texas carry an average student debtload of $27,968.
