This report analyzed 116 schools in the Southeast Region to see which ones were the most popular associate degree programs for computer science students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Information Technology program at each school on the list.

ECPI University

Virginia Beach, VA

Our 2023 rankings named ECPI University the most popular school in the Southeast Region for information technology students working on their associate degree. Located in the large city of Virginia Beach, ECPI University is a private for-profit school with a large student population.

Of the 462 students majoring in IT at ECPI University, 81% are male and 19% are female.

After completing their Associate Degree, IT graduates from ECPI University carry an average student debt load of $24,971. For students who choose a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly student loan payment is $114.

Out of the 116 schools in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Northern Virginia Community College landed the # 2 spot on the list. Northern Virginia Community College is a very large public school located in the large suburb of Annandale.

Women make up 26% of the IT majors at the school.

After completing their Associate Degree, IT graduates from Northern Virginia Community College carry an average student debt load of $17,124.

The in-demand associate degree programs at Gwinnett Technical College helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular information technology schools in the Southeast Region . Located in the suburb of Lawrenceville, GTC is a public school with a medium-sized student population.
