Our analysis looked at 12 schools in the United States to see which doctor's degree programs were the most popular for computer science students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Information Technology program at each school on the list.

Minneapolis, MN

Our 2023 rankings named Capella University the most popular school in the United States for information technology students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the city of Minneapolis, Capella University is a private for-profit college with a very large student population.

Of the 61 students majoring in IT at Capella University, 74% are male and 26% are female.

Out of the 12 schools in the United States that were part of this year’s ranking, Capitol Technology University landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in the large suburb of Laurel, Capitol Tech is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly small student population.

Of the 24 students majoring in IT at Capitol Tech, 79% are male and 21% are female.

A rank of #3 on this year’s list means Marymount University is a great place for information technology students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the midsize city of Arlington, Marymount is a private not-for-profit school with a small student population.

Out of the 12 schools in the United States that were part of this year’s ranking, Dakota State University landed the # 4 spot on the list. Located in the town of Madison, Dakota State is a public school with a small student population.
