Our 2023 rankings named Harvard University the best school in Massachusetts for computer science students working on their graduate certificate.
Graduate Certificate recipients from Harvard accumulate an average of $19,755 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online graduate classes at Harvard. During the 2019-2020 year, about 96% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
The excellent graduate certificate programs at Tufts University helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the best computer science schools in Massachusetts.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since Tufts does offer online graduate classes for certain majors. During the 2019-2020 year, about 88% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend Brandeis University. The school came in at #3 on this year’s Best Computer Science Graduate Certificate Schools in Massachusetts list.
You may have the opportunity to take online graduate classes at Brandeis. During the 2019-2020 year, about 100% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
The excellent graduate certificate programs at Worcester Polytechnic Institute helped the school earn the #4 place on this year’s ranking of the best computer science schools in Massachusetts.
One thing to take note of is that WPI does offer online graduate classes in some areas. In fact, around 37% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Massachusetts - Lowell. It ranked #5 on our 2023 Best Computer Science Graduate Certificate Schools in Massachusetts list.

With a ranking of #6, University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth did quite well on this year’s best schools for computer science students working on their graduate certificate.
