This report analyzed 8 schools in Utah to see which ones were the most popular associate degree programs for computer science students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Weber State University the most popular school in Utah for computer science students working on their associate degree. Weber State University is a large public school located in Ogden, Utah that handed out 193 associate degrees in 2020-2021.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at WSU is $6,228. Out-of-state students pay an average of $16,644. On average, associate degree students take out $20,128 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 15% were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since WSU does offer online classes for certain majors. During the 2019-2020 year, about 59% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Out of the 8 schools in Utah that were part of this year’s ranking, Utah Valley University landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in Orem, Utah, the large public school handed out 171 associate degree awards in 2020-2021.
Students from Utah who attend UVU full time pay an average of $6,010 in tuition and fees. Out-of-state students pay an average of $17,092. On average, associate degree students take out $14,381 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 12% were women.

A rank of #3 on this year’s list means Salt Lake Community College is a great place for computer science students working on their associate degree. This large public school is located in Salt Lake City, Utah, and it awarded 170 associate degrees in 2020-2021.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Salt Lake Community College is $4,086. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $12,734. On average, associate degree students take out $13,550 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 18% were women.
Salt Lake Community College does offer online classes for certain degree levels. In 2019-2020 about 48% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
The excellent associate degree programs at LDS Business College helped the school earn the #4 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular computer science schools in Utah. LDS Business College is located in Salt Lake City, Utah and has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 31 associate degrees to qualified students.
Around 19% of those degree recipients were women.
Online courses are available at LDS Business College, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 29% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Snow College. The school came in at #5 on this year’s Most Popular Computer Science Associate Degree Schools in Utah list. Snow College is a public institution located in Ephraim, Utah. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 14 associate degrees in 2020-2021.

If you want to attend Neumont, expect to pay an average of $25,995 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. Of those students who received their degree, 8% were women.
One thing to take note of is that Neumont does offer online classes in some areas. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 27% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
Utah State University came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Computer Science Associate Degree Schools in Utah ranking. Logan, Utah is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 2 students in 2020-2021.

With a ranking of #8, Southern Utah University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for computer science students working on their associate degree.
In-state students pay an average of $6,726 in tuition and fees if they attend Southern Utah University full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $20,542. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $10,955 in student loans.
One thing to take note of is that Southern Utah University does offer online classes in some areas. In fact, around 68% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
