Our 2023 rankings named Brigham Young University - Idaho the most popular school in Idaho for computer science students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in Rexburg, Idaho, the large private not-for-profit school handed out 289 bachelor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
Bachelor’s Degree recipients from BYU - I accumulate an average of $16,085 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 29% were women.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at BYU - I. During the 2019-2020 year, about 82% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Boise State University is a great place for computer science students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in Boise, Idaho, the large public school handed out 129 bachelor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
Full-time students from Idaho pay an average of $8,060 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Boise State. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $24,980. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $26,680 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 16% were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since Boise State does offer online classes for certain majors. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 82% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
A rank of #3 on this year’s list means University of Idaho is a great place for computer science students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in Moscow, Idaho, the fairly large public school awarded 36 diplomas to qualifed bachelor’s degree students in 2020-2021.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at U of I is $8,340. Out-of-state students pay an average of $27,576. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from U of I accumulate an average of $24,511 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 17% were women.
U of I does offer online classes for certain degree levels. During the 2019-2020 year, about 66% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Idaho State University. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Most Popular Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Idaho list. Located in Pocatello, Idaho, the fairly large public school handed out 34 bachelor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at ISU is $7,872. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $25,326. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from ISU accumulate an average of $27,801 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 12% of those degree recipients were women.

A rank of #5 on this year’s list means Lewis - Clark State College is a great place for computer science students working on their bachelor’s degree. This small public school is located in Lewiston, Idaho, and it awarded 20 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $27,446 in student loans. Around 25% of those degree recipients were women.
Lewis - Clark State College does have options available for those who want to take online classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 52% took at least some of their classes online.
Northwest Nazarene University ranked #6 on this year’s Most Popular Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Idaho list. NNU is a small private not-for-profit school situated in Nampa, Idaho. It awarded 12 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
NNU does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $34,390. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $30,603 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 17% were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at NNU. In fact, around 55% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
