Our analysis looked at 45 schools in the Southeast Region to see which doctor's degree programs were the most popular for computer science students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Georgia Institute of Technology - Main Campus the most popular school in the Southeast Region for computer science students working on their doctor’s degree. Georgia Institute of Technology - Main Campus is a large public school located in Atlanta, Georgia that handed out 76 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 20% of those degree recipients were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online graduate classes at Georgia Tech. In fact, around 88% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Nova Southeastern University. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Computer Science Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region list. Located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the large private not-for-profit school handed out 35 doctor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 20% were women.
Some students may be able to take online graduate classes at NUS Florida. In 2019-2020 about 52% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.

Duke University ranked #18 on this year’s Most Popular Computer Science Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region list. Located in Durham, North Carolina, the fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 8 diplomas to qualifed doctor’s degree students in 2020-2021.

Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College came in at #19 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Computer Science Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region ranking. Louisiana State University is a large public school situated in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It awarded 7 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
