Our analysis looked at 10 schools in Connecticut to see which master's degree programs were the most popular for computer science students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named University of New Haven the most popular school in Connecticut for computer science students working on their master’s degree. West Haven, Connecticut is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out master’s degrees to 82 students in 2020-2021.
Around 29% of those degree recipients were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since University of New Haven does offer online graduate classes for certain majors. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 39% took at least some of their classes online.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Quinnipiac University is a great place for computer science students working on their master’s degree. Quinnipiac is located in Hamden, Connecticut and has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 44 master’s degrees to qualified students.
Of those students who received their degree, 70% were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online graduate classes at Quinnipiac. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 52% of graduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
Out of the 10 schools in Connecticut that were part of this year’s ranking, Yale University landed the # 3 spot on the list. Yale is a private not-for-profit institution located in New Haven, Connecticut. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 43 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 26% were women.
Yale does have options available for those who want to take online graduate classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 98% took at least some of their classes online.
A rank of #4 on this year’s list means Sacred Heart University is a great place for computer science students working on their master’s degree. Located in Fairfield, Connecticut, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school handed out 36 master’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 36% were women.
Sacred Heart does offer online graduate classes for certain degree levels. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 64% of graduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Bridgeport. It ranked #5 on our 2023 Most Popular Computer Science Master’s Degree Schools in Connecticut list. Located in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the small private not-for-profit school handed out 20 master’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 25% were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online graduate classes at UBridgeport. During the 2019-2020 year, about 53% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
Central Connecticut State University landed the #6 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular master’s degree computer science programs. CCSU is located in New Britain, Connecticut and has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 16 master’s degrees to qualified students.
Of those students who received their degree, 69% were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since CCSU does offer online graduate classes for certain majors. In 2019-2020 about 95% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
American Sentinel University ranked #7 on this year’s Most Popular Computer Science Master’s Degree Schools in Connecticut list. American Sentinel University is a small private for-profit school located in Aurora, Connecticut that handed out 4 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 25% of those degree recipients were women.
Interested in an online degree? Then you definitely want to check out American Sentinel University. Every graduate student at the school took at least one class online.
Southern Connecticut State University ranked #8 on this year’s Most Popular Computer Science Master’s Degree Schools in Connecticut list. SCSU is a medium-sized public school situated in New Haven, Connecticut. It awarded 1 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
SCSU does have options available for those who want to take online graduate classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. During the 2019-2020 year, about 93% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
Rensselaer at Hartford did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for computer science students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #8 on the list. Hartford, Connecticut is the setting for this very small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out master’s degrees to 1 students in 2020-2021.
Rensselaer at Hartford is one of the schools on our list that is primarily online. Each graduate student at the school took at least one class online.
Wesleyan University ranked #10 on this year’s Most Popular Computer Science Master’s Degree Schools in Connecticut list.
Online graduate courses are available at Wesleyan U, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. During the 2019-2020 year, about 84% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
