This report analyzed 43 schools in Texas to see which ones were the most popular master's degree programs for computer science students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our analysis found The University of Texas at Dallas to be the most popular school for computer science students who want to pursue a master’s degree in Texas. UT Dallas is a large public school situated in Richardson, Texas. It awarded 849 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 34% were women.
UT Dallas does offer online graduate classes for certain degree levels. During the 2019-2020 year, about 83% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
The excellent master’s degree programs at The University of Texas at Arlington helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular computer science schools in Texas. UT Arlington is a large public school situated in Arlington, Texas. It awarded 460 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 32% of those degree recipients were women.

Out of the 43 schools in Texas that were part of this year’s ranking, The University of Texas at Austin landed the # 4 spot on the list. Austin, Texas is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out master’s degrees to 246 students in 2020-2021.
Around 44% of those degree recipients were women.
Online graduate courses are available at UT Austin, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. During the 2019-2020 year, about 66% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
Out of the 43 schools in Texas that were part of this year’s ranking, University of North Texas landed the # 5 spot on the list. Located in Denton, Texas, the large public school awarded 151 diplomas to qualifed master’s degree students in 2020-2021.

Southern Methodist University ranked #6 on this year’s Most Popular Computer Science Master’s Degree Schools in Texas list. Located in Dallas, Texas, the fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 141 diplomas to qualifed master’s degree students in 2020-2021.
