Our 2023 rankings named University of Central Missouri the most popular school in the Plains States Region for computer science students working on their master’s degree. Located in Warrensburg, Missouri, the fairly large public school awarded 434 diplomas to qualifed master’s degree students in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 49% were women.
One thing to take note of is that UCM does offer online graduate classes in some areas. In fact, around 46% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
Out of the 50 schools in the Plains States Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Maharishi International University landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school handed out 162 master’s degree awards in 2020-2021.

Around 29% of those degree recipients were women.
Online graduate courses are available at UMN Twin Cities, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. In 2019-2020 about 65% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
With a ranking of #11, Dakota State University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for computer science students working on their master’s degree. Dakota State is a public institution located in Madison, South Dakota. The school has a small population, and it awarded 108 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 27% of those degree recipients were women.
