Also, there are a number of trade schools and bootcamps with offerings that you might find attractive.
To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Computer Science Degree Search has created its Most Popular Computer Science Undergraduate Certificate Schools ranking. This report analyzed 871 schools in the United States to see which ones were the most popular undergraduate certificate programs for computer science students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our analysis found Ivy Tech Community College to be the most popular school for computer science students who want to pursue a undergraduate certificate in the United States. Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, the large public school awarded 473 diplomas to qualifed undergraduate certificate students in 2020-2021.
Full-time students from Indiana pay an average of $4,637 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Ivy Tech Community College. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $8,927. By the time they get their undergraduate certificate, students from this school have racked up an average of $15,607 in student loans. Around 20% of those degree recipients were women.
Ivy Tech Community College does offer online classes for certain degree levels. In 2019-2020 about 81% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Tarrant County College District is a great place for computer science students working on their undergraduate certificate. Tarrant County College District is a large public school located in Fort Worth, Texas that handed out 266 undergraduate certificates in 2020-2021.
By the time they get their undergraduate certificate, students from this school have racked up an average of $18,504 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 25% were women.
Some students may be able to take online classes at Tarrant County College. During the 2019-2020 year, about 97% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend California Technical Academy. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Most Popular Computer Science Undergraduate Certificate Schools list. CTA is located in Riverside, California and has a very small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 184 undergraduate certificates to qualified students.
Undergraduate Certificate recipients from CTA accumulate an average of $13,750 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 10% were women.
Interested in an online degree? Then you definitely want to check out CTA. Every undergraduate student at the school took at least one class online.
The excellent undergraduate certificate programs at Gwinnett Technical College helped the school earn the #4 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular computer science schools in the United States. GTC is a public institution located in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 166 undergraduate certificates in 2020-2021.
Students from Georgia who attend GTC full time pay an average of $3,236 in tuition and fees. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $5,636. On average, undergraduate certificate students take out $16,580 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 30% of those degree recipients were women.

With a ranking of #7, Broward College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for computer science students working on their undergraduate certificate. Located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the large public school handed out 130 undergraduate certificate awards in 2020-2021.
Full-time students from Florida pay an average of $2,830 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend BC. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $8,952. By the time they get their undergraduate certificate, students from this school have racked up an average of $14,608 in student loans. Around 19% of those degree recipients were women.
BC does offer online classes for certain degree levels. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 87% took at least some of their classes online.
University of Maryland Global Campus came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Computer Science Undergraduate Certificate Schools ranking. Located in Adelphi, Maryland, the large public school handed out 125 undergraduate certificate awards in 2020-2021.
Students from Maryland who attend UMGC full time pay an average of $7,704 in tuition and fees. Out-of-state students pay an average of $12,336. By the time they get their undergraduate certificate, students from this school have racked up an average of $26,847 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 22% were women.
Some students may be able to take online classes at UMGC. In fact, around 92% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
PC AGE - Jersey City ranked #9 on this year’s Most Popular Computer Science Undergraduate Certificate Schools list. PC AGE - Jersey City is a very small private for-profit school located in Jersey City, New Jersey that handed out 111 undergraduate certificates in 2020-2021.
Undergraduate Certificate recipients from PC AGE - Jersey City accumulate an average of $16,870 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 6% were women.
Collin County Community College District landed the #10 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular undergraduate certificate computer science programs. Collin County Community College District is a public institution located in McKinney, Texas. The school has a large population, and it awarded 103 undergraduate certificates in 2020-2021.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Collin County Community College District is $3,094. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $5,104. Of those students who received their degree, 26% were women.

With a ranking of #13, Lincoln Technical Institute - Paramus did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for computer science students working on their undergraduate certificate. Lincoln Tech - Paramus is located in Paramus, New Jersey and has a very small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 95 undergraduate certificates to qualified students.
On average, undergraduate certificate students take out $14,396 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 5% of those degree recipients were women.
Tulsa Technology Center landed the #14 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular undergraduate certificate computer science programs. This small public school is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and it awarded 87 undergraduate certificates in 2020-2021.
Undergraduate Certificate recipients from Tulsa Tech accumulate an average of $12,350 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 16% were women.
Central New Mexico Community College landed the #15 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular undergraduate certificate computer science programs. CNM is a public institution located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 84 undergraduate certificates in 2020-2021.
Full-time students from New Mexico pay an average of $1,684 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend CNM. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $7,540. By the time they get their undergraduate certificate, students from this school have racked up an average of $14,711 in student loans. Around 20% of those degree recipients were women.

Utah Valley University ranked #16 on this year’s Most Popular Computer Science Undergraduate Certificate Schools list. UVU is a large public school situated in Orem, Utah. It awarded 82 undergraduate certificates in 2020-2021.
Full-time students from Utah pay an average of $6,010 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend UVU. Out-of-state students pay an average of $17,092. Of those students who received their degree, 12% were women.

With a ranking of #16, Northshore Technical Community College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for computer science students working on their undergraduate certificate. Northshore Technical College-Sullivan Main Campus is a public institution located in Bogalusa, Louisiana. The school has a small population, and it awarded 82 undergraduate certificates in 2020-2021.

Indian Capital Technology Center, Muskogee landed the #19 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular undergraduate certificate computer science programs. This small public school is located in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and it awarded 80 undergraduate certificates in 2020-2021.
On average, undergraduate certificate students take out $12,880 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 10% were women.
Leeward Community College landed the #20 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular undergraduate certificate computer science programs. Leeward CC is located in Pearl City, Hawaii and has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 79 undergraduate certificates to qualified students.
