Our analysis looked at 75 schools in the Far Western US Region to see which basic certificate programs were the most popular for computer science students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Computer Programming program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Diablo Valley College the most popular school in the Far Western US Region for computer programming students working on their basic certificate. Located in the suburb of Pleasant Hill, Diablo Valley is a public school with a fairly large student population.

Women make up 36% of the programming majors at the school.

Costa Mesa, CA

Out of the 75 schools in the Far Western US Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Orange Coast College landed the # 2 spot on the list. Orange Coast College is a large public school located in the city of Costa Mesa.

About 30% of the students majoring in programming at the school are women while 70% are male.

Cupertino, CA

Out of the 75 schools in the Far Western US Region that were part of this year’s ranking, De Anza College landed the # 3 spot on the list. Located in the small city of Cupertino, De Anza College is a public college with a fairly large student population.

The in-demand basic certificate programs at City College of San Francisco helped the school earn the #4 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular computer programming schools in the Far Western US Region . City College of San Francisco is a fairly large public school located in the large city of San Francisco.

Of the 64 students majoring in programming at City College of San Francisco, 52% are male and 48% are female.
