Our 2023 rankings named Carnegie Mellon University the most popular school in Pennsylvania for computer science students working on their bachelor’s degree. Carnegie Mellon is a large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Pittsburgh.

Women make up 46% of the compsci majors at the school.

The in-demand bachelor’s degree programs at University of Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh Campus helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular computer science schools in Pennsylvania. Located in the large city of Pittsburgh, Pitt is a public school with a fairly large student population.

Of the 231 students majoring in compsci at Pitt, 85% are male and 15% are female.

On average, compsci graduates from Pitt take out $25,814 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree. For students who choose a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly student loan payment is $319.

Philadelphia, PA

Out of the 39 schools in Pennsylvania that were part of this year’s ranking, Drexel University landed the # 3 spot on the list. Drexel is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Philadelphia.

Of the 121 students majoring in compsci at Drexel, 87% are male and 13% are female.

The average monthly payment of a loan this size is about $507, assuming that the borrower is on a 10-year repayment plan.
