This report analyzed 41 schools in the Southwest Region to see which ones were the most popular bachelor's degree programs for computer science students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Computer Science program at each school on the list.

The colleges and universities below are the most popular for compsci majors pursuing a bachelor's degree.

Our 2023 rankings named Arizona State University - Tempe the most popular school in the Southwest Region for computer science students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in the midsize city of Tempe, ASU - Tempe is a public school with a very large student population.

Women make up 17% of the compsci majors at the school.

While working on their Bachelor's Degree, compsci majors at ASU - Tempe accumulate an average of around $21,768 in student debt. When it comes time to repay the loan, graduates who are on a 10-year repayment plan pay an average monthly payment of $265.

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Texas A&M University - College Station is a great place for computer science students working on their bachelor’s degree. Texas A&M College Station is a fairly large public school located in the midsize city of College Station.

Women make up 18% of the compsci majors at the school.

After completing their Bachelor's Degree, compsci graduates from Texas A&M College Station carry an average student debt load of $20,096. This translates to an average monthly loan payment of $327, based on a 10-year repayment plan.

A rank of #3 on this year’s list means Texas State University is a great place for computer science students working on their bachelor’s degree. Texas State is a very large public school located in the small city of San Marcos.

Out of the 41 schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Arizona landed the # 4 spot on the list. University of Arizona is a very large public school located in the city of Tucson.

Of the 207 students majoring in compsci at University of Arizona, 81% are male and 19% are female.

After completing their Bachelor's Degree, compsci graduates from University of Arizona carry an average student debt load of $24,605. The average monthly payment of a loan this size is about $312, assuming that the borrower is on a 10-year repayment plan.
