Our analysis looked at 19 schools in the Southwest Region to see which bachelor's degree programs were the most popular for computer science students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Information Science program at each school on the list.

The colleges and universities below are the most popular for IS majors pursuing a bachelor's degree.

Our 2023 rankings named The University of Texas at Arlington the most popular school in the Southwest Region for information science students working on their bachelor’s degree. UT Arlington is a fairly large public school located in the city of Arlington.

Of the 260 students majoring in IS at UT Arlington, 75% are male and 25% are female.

While working on their Bachelor's Degree, IS majors at UT Arlington accumulate an average of around $23,590 in student debt.

Out of the 19 schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Texas A&M University - Commerce landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in the distant town of Commerce, Texas A&M Commerce is a public college with a fairly large student population.

Women make up 36% of the IS majors at the school.

On average, IS graduates from Texas A&M Commerce take out $19,553 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree.

The in-demand bachelor’s degree programs at University of North Texas helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular information science schools in the Southwest Region . Located in the midsize city of Denton, UNT is a public college with a very large student population.

Women make up 45% of the IS majors at the school.

After completing their Bachelor's Degree, IS graduates from UNT carry an average student debt load of $26,592.

Angelo State University came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Information Science Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region ranking. Angelo State is a fairly large public school located in the city of San Angelo.

Of the 18 students majoring in IS at Angelo State, 78% are male and 22% are female.
