Our 2023 rankings named Stony Brook University the most popular school in the Middle Atlantic Region for computer science students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the large suburb of Stony Brook, SUNY Stony Brook is a public college with a very large student population.

Of the 36 students majoring in compsci at SUNY Stony Brook, 86% are male and 14% are female.

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Carnegie Mellon University is a great place for computer science students working on their doctor’s degree. Carnegie Mellon is a large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Pittsburgh.
