Our 2023 rankings named Valencia College the most popular school in Florida for computer science students working on their degree. Located in Orlando, Florida, the large public school awarded 1,118 diplomas to qualifed students in 2020-2021.
By the time they get their degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $18,372 in student loans. Those who take out this much in loans have to make a monthly payment of about $83 if they are on a 10-year repayment plan. During the early years of their career, Valencia College graduates make an average of $37,350 annually. Of those students who received their degree, 30% were women.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Broward College is a great place for computer science students. This large public school is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and it awarded 1,048 degrees in 2020-2021.
Degree recipients from BC accumulate an average of $15,086 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. During the early years of their career, BC graduates make an average of $42,319 annually. Of those students who received their degree, 24% were women.
The programs at University of Central Florida helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular computer science schools in Florida. Located in Orlando, Florida, the large public school handed out 899 degrees in 2020-2021.

A rank of #4 on this year’s list means University of Florida is a great place for computer science students. University of Florida is a large public school located in Gainesville, Florida that handed out 843 degrees in 2020-2021.

Once they receive their degree, UF graduates enter the workforce, making an average salary of $51,332 during the early year of their career. Around 27% of those degree recipients were women.
Out of the 132 schools in Florida that were part of this year’s ranking, Florida International University landed the # 5 spot on the list. Located in Miami, Florida, the large public school handed out 819 degrees in 2020-2021.
