This report analyzed 82 schools in the Far Western US Region to see which ones were the most popular bachelor's degree programs for computer science students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Computer Science program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named University of California - Irvine the most popular school in the Far Western US Region for computer science students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in the large city of Irvine, UC Irvine is a public college with a very large student population.

Of the 822 students majoring in compsci at UC Irvine, 78% are male and 22% are female.

While working on their Bachelor's Degree, compsci majors at UC Irvine accumulate an average of around $16,455 in student debt. The average monthly payment of a loan this size is about $177, assuming that the borrower is on a 10-year repayment plan.

Out of the 82 schools in the Far Western US Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of California - Berkeley landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in the city of Berkeley, UC Berkeley is a public school with a very large student population.

Of the 797 students majoring in compsci at UC Berkeley, 72% are male and 28% are female.

Out of the 82 schools in the Far Western US Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Oregon State University landed the # 3 spot on the list. Located in the city of Corvallis, Oregon State is a public school with a fairly large student population.

The in-demand bachelor’s degree programs at University of California - San Diego helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular computer science schools in the Far Western US Region . UCSD is a very large public school located in the large city of La Jolla.

Of the 537 students majoring in compsci at UCSD, 79% are male and 21% are female.
